I grew up watching my parents build something from nothing. As a first-generation American, small business wasn't just an economic concept in our house, it was a way of life. It shaped how we ate, how we celebrated, how we showed up for each other. I know firsthand what it means to pour everything you have into something you believe in.
I've spent years showing up to events, creating public art, and building relationships that go far beyond any single project. That upbringing rooted me deeply in community. San Antonio's neighborhoods, its culture, its people — these aren't backdrops to my work, they're the reason for it.
So when I say I practice empathy-driven design, I mean it personally. I bridge story and strategy to serve the people who built this city — the small business owners, the community makers, the dreamers doing it without a safety net.
