Be Kind to Your Mind

My First Mural at ESX Art Paint Jam 7

Artists, friends, and family participating in a community-led mural activation.

A Community Revival at Essex Modern City

Essex Modern City has long been a hub for San Antonio’s street art, culture, and creativity — but without consistent resources or funding, many of the original murals have deteriorated with time.

Thanks to ESX ART, lovingly organized by Paul Garson, artists from all walks of life are coming together to breathe fresh life into these walls. This community-led paint jam isn’t just about adding color — it’s about renewal, hope, and connection.

My First Solo Wall — With a Little Help 💖

This paint jam marked a huge personal milestone: my first solo mural!

Even with that title, I have to give credit where it’s due. Life threw me a few curveballs (as it does), and my loving partner, Nik Soupe, stepped in without hesitation. Whether it was helping prep, handle materials, or just offering encouragement, he made sure I had everything I needed to bring my vision to life.

(Soup, I appreciate you more than words can say.) 💖

"Be Kind to Your Mind" — The Message Behind the Mural 🧠🌸

My mural reads: "Be Kind to Your Mind."

It’s a reminder I hold close — that taking care of your mental health isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.

We often move so fast, pushing through life without checking in on ourselves. This piece is my first true message to the world: You matter. Your mind matters. Your peace matters.

Art is conversation. I hope this one encourages people to treat themselves with the kindness they deserve.

Shoutout to Outlaw Beer 🍻

“If Lone Star and Miller Lite had a craft beer baby, it would be Outlaw.”

Crisp, light, and refreshing — perfect for climbing ladders and surviving the Texas heat.

Huge thanks to Mike and Maddie of Outlaw Beer for bringing out beverages for all of us. Your support helped fuel a beautiful weekend of art and community. 🤘

Thank You 💬

Every conversation, every smile, every moment mattered.

Thank you to The Kickstand SA for stopping by, friends and family who cheered us on, and everyone who made this weekend unforgettable. And a massive thank you to Paul Garson for making it all possible.

Until next time, Essex!
